An Act increasing the legal age for marijuana consumption and purchase from 21 to 25.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 32L of chapter 94C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out in the first paragraph, as amended by section 16 of chapter 55 of the Acts of 2017, the words “18 to 21 years of age, inclusive to” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- 18 to 25 years of age, inclusive to.
SECTION 2. Chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in the definition of “Consumer,” as amended by section 20 of chapter 55 of the Acts of 2017, the figure “21” and inserting in the place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 3. Subsection (b) of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 4. Section 4 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in clause (xxi) of subsection (a1/2), in each instance, as amended by section 26 of chapter 55 of the Acts of 2017, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 5. Section 4 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in clause (xxix) of subsection (a1/2), in each instance, as amended by section 26 of chapter 55 of the Acts of 2017, the words “21 years of age” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- 25 years of age.
SECTION 6. Section 4 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in clause (xxxi) of subsection (a1/2), in each instance, as amended by section 26 of chapter 55 of the Acts of 2017, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 7. Section 4 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in clause (xxxii) of subsection (a1/2), as amended by section 26 of chapter 55 of the Acts of 2017, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure: -25.
SECTION 8. Clause (6) of subsection (a) of section 4 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 42, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 9. Section 7 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 10. Section 8 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 11. Section 9 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in subsection (b), in each instance, as amended by section 36 of chapter 55 of the Acts of 2017, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure: -25.
SECTION 12. Subsection (e) of section 12 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 31, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 13. Section 12 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in subsection (h) and subsection (i), in each instance, as amended by section 37 of chapter 55 of the Acts of 2017, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 14. Subsection (f) of section 13 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
