An Act requiring backup cameras on certain vehicles.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 90 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 7CC the following section:-
Section 7DD. A class 3 or above motor vehicle, trailer, semi-trailer or semi-trailer unit, as classified by the Federal Highway Administration, with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 10,000 pounds that is owned or leased by the commonwealth or a city or town of the commonwealth, shall be equipped with a backup camera. The registrar shall issue rules or regulations relative to the requirements of this section.
