An Act prohibiting certain fees connected to rental cars.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 32E ¾ of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as amended by section 4 of chapter 368 of the acts of 2018, is hereby further amended by adding the following paragraph:-

Notwithstanding the provisions of this section to the contrary, a rental car company may not charge an upfront fee or surcharge to a renter to account for the potential payment or collection of tolls.
