An Act creating a training wage.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1 of chapter 151 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end of the first paragraph the following 3 sentences:— This section shall not apply to during the first 480 hours of employment. Said 480 hour period shall be referred to as a training period. A wage that is below $10.00 per hour, in any occupation, during a training period, shall conclusively be presumed to be oppressive and unreasonable, unless the commissioner has expressly approved or shall expressly approve the establishment and payment of a lesser wage under the provisions of sections 7 and 9.
