By Mr. Moran of Lawrence, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3625) of Frank A. Moran for legislation to authorize the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to conduct a noise study along the confluence of Interstates I-93 and I-495 in the town of Andover to determine the ambient noise level generated by the existing traffic.  Transportation.

An Act providing for a study of noise impacts from the confluence of Interstates 93 and 495.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation is hereby directed to conduct a comprehensive noise study along the confluence of Routes I93 and I495 in the town of Andover, to determine the ambient noise level generated by the existing traffic. The study shall be conducted by an acoustical engineer employed by or on behalf of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. The results of the study shall be filed with chairs of the joint committee on transportation and the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate on or before December 31, 2019.
