An Act requiring the master plans of cities and towns to address climate change and renewable energy.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

The second paragraph of section 81D of chapter 41 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following clause:-

(10) Climate change and renewable energy element which shall: (a) forecast the potential impact that climate change may have on the municipality; (b) identify populations, neighborhoods and infrastructure within the municipality that may be vulnerable to the effects of climate change; (c) develop responses and strategies for reducing vulnerabilities created by climate change; and (d) establish goals and policies for reducing causes of climate change.
