By Representative Jones of North Reading and Senator Crighton, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3815) of Bradley H. Jones, Jr., and Brendan P. Crighton (by vote of the town) that the town of Lynnfield be authorized to exempt the position of sealer of weights and measures from the civil service law.  Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act exempting the position of sealer of weights and measures within the town of Lynnfield from the Civil Service Law.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or specific law to the contrary, the position of sealer of weights and measures within the Town of Lynnfield shall be exempt from the provisions of Chapter 31 of the General Laws. 

SECTION 2.  This act shall not impair the civil service status of any present incumbent sealer of weights and measures holding such status on the effective date of this act.”

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
