An Act revising public and non-profit liability caps.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 85K of chapter 231 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the figure “$100,000”, in line 11, and  inserting in place thereof the following words:- , except in the case of a wrongful death action based on tort shall not be in excess of $1,000,000.

SECTION 2.  Section 2 of chapter 258 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the figure “$100,000”, in line 9, the following words:-  , except in the case of a wrongful death action based on tort shall not be in excess of $1,000,000.

SECTION 3.  Said section 2 of said chapter 258, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after figure “$100,000”, in line 11, the following words:- , except in the case of a wrongful death action based on tort shall not be in excess of $1,000,000.
