By Representative Barrett of North Adams and Senator Hinds, a joint petition (subject to Joint Rule 12) of John Barrett, III and Adam G. Hinds relative to apportionment of certain betterments by the Lanesborough Village Fire and Water District.  Revenue.

An Act relative to the Lanesborough Village Fire and Water District.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 10 of chapter 255 of the acts of 1938 is hereby amended by adding the following sentence:-  If the district adopts sections 42A to 42K, inclusive, of chapter 40 of the General Laws, it may, if it becomes necessary to carry out its purposes, apportion any betterments into 20, 30 or 40 equal parts.

SECTION 2.  Section 13 of said chapter 255 is hereby amended by striking out the words “and abutting on said district”.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
