The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
_______________
In the One Hundred and Ninety-First General Court
(2019-2020)
_______________
An Act designating a certain water spray deck park within the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Melnea A. Cass Recreation Complex in the Roxbury neighborhood of the city of Boston as the “Nakieka “Kiki” Taylor Water Deck”.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain state water spray deck in the Roxbury section of the City of Boston, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
The water spray deck at the Melnea A. Cass Recreation Complex, under the control of the department of conservation and recreation, located adjacent to the Martin Luther King, Jr. boulevard and Washington street intersection in the Roxbury section of the City of Boston, shall be designated and known as the Nakieka “Kiki” Taylor Water Deck, in recognition of her service as a lifeguard protecting the children and families of Roxbury. The department shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
