An Act relative to creditable service.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1: Notwithstanding Chapter 32 of the General Laws, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts Teachers’ Retirement System shall allow Daniel P. Schwemin, a member who did not pay or make provisions for repayment installments, into the annuity saving fund of the system, make-up payments of an amount equal to the accumulated regular deductions withdrawn by him, together with buyback interest, within 1 year after April 2, 2012, and whose creditable service predates January 1, 1986, shall not be required to pay actuarial interest, but rather the regular interest thereon. The repayment shall be made in one lump sum or in installments as the Massachusetts Teachers’ Retirement System shall prescribe.
