An Act to expand the Massachusetts School Building Authority and create a new program to assist public school districts with 21st century technology upgrades.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 70B of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
Section 21. The authority shall create a technology upgrade program for school districts to provide partial funding throughout the commonwealth for school technology upgrades. The technology upgrade program shall be a competitive grant program and its grants shall be distributed by the authority on the basis of need and urgency. The authority shall maintain funding for all capital programs in existence on January 1, 2019 in an amount equal to or greater than the funding for said programs in fiscal year 2019.
