An Act authorizing the Salem scholarship and education committee to provide scholarships from funds set aside for educational purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding Chapter 194 of the Acts of 1986, Section 3C of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 60, or any other law to the contrary, the City of Salem Scholarship and Education Committee may provide educational financial aid to deserving Salem residents from educational funds collected, pursuant to Section 3C of Chapter 60, for the purpose of supplementing educational funding and adult literacy programs.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
