SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the historic property owned by the commonwealth through the department of conservation and recreation at the address of 550 Highland street in the town of Hamilton, shall not be subject to the provisions of chapter 59 of the General Laws for any such period of time as the property is leased by the department of conservation and recreation to 1 or more residential curators pursuant to the curatorship program established by section 44 of chapter 85 of the acts of 1994, so long as the curators are in compliance with the terms of the lease and the curatorship program.
SECTION 2. Real estate taxes that the town of Hamilton has assessed, but which have not been paid on said historic property or on the holder of any leasehold interest under said curatorship program are forgiven and not subject to collection under chapter 60 of the General Laws or any other general or special law.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
