CHARLES D. BAKER

GOVERNOR

KARYN POLITO

LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR

December 30, 2019

To the Honorable Senate and House of Representatives,

Pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Section 8, Paragraph 1, Clause (2) of the Amendments to the Constitution, as appearing in Article LXXXIX of said Amendments, I am filing for your consideration the attached legislation entitled “An Act Enhancing Flexibility for Event Licensing in the Town of Foxborough.”

I am filing this special legislation at the request of the Foxborough Board of Selectmen.

The legislation will permit the Town to issue event licenses that will remain valid for a period of up to twelve months, as determined by the licensing board.  This makes a minor change to current law, which provides that all licenses issued shall expire on December 31 of each year.

I urge your prompt consideration of this bill.

Respectfully submitted,

Charles D. Baker,

Governor
