An Act relative to student impact rating.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 38 of chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 37, after the word “The” the following words:-

“principles and”

and is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 77, the words “regulations of the board” and inserting in place thereof the following words:-

“with this section and chapter 150E”

SECTION 2. Section 1B of chapter 59 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 78, after the word “standards.” the following sentence:-

Notwithstanding any other provision of the general or special laws, the board shall not mandate any school district to include as part of an educator evaluation system or as a teacher performance standard the use of student performance data that is intended to measure an individual educator’s impact on student learning, growth, or achievement.
