By Representative Sabadosa of Northampton and Senator Comerford, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 4330) of Lindsay N. Sabadosa and Joanne M. Comerford (with the approval of the mayor and city council) that the city of Northampton be exempt from appointing weighers of hay, weighers of coal, and fence viewers in said city.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act exempting the city of Northampton from appointing weighers of hay, weighers of coal, and fence viewers.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1: Notwithstanding Section 1 of Chapter 49 of the General Laws, the mayor of the city of Northampton shall not be obligated thereby to appoint fence viewers and said section 1 shall not be applicable to the city of Northampton.

SECTION 2: The city of Northampton is authorized to rescind the vote to accept the provisions of Section 236 of Chapter 94 of the General Laws taken by the Northampton board of aldermen on December 11, 1888 by vote of the city council and approval of the mayor.

SECTION 3: Notwithstanding Section 238 of Chapter 94 of the General Laws, the mayor of the city of Northampton shall not be obligated thereby to appoint weighers of coal and said section 238 shall not be applicable to the city of Northampton.
