An Act providing for a MassHealth expansion in response to COVID-19.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to ensure all persons who become unemployed as a result of COVID-19 have access to MassHealth coverage, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 9A of chapter 118E of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:-
(17) The division shall expand MassHealth eligibility to all persons who qualify for unemployment benefits under Chapter 151A and all who are directly impacted by the COVID-19 state of emergency declarations of March, 2020.
