SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary but subject to paragraphs (a), (b) and (g) of section 16 of chapter 30B of the General Laws, the city of Holyoke, acting through its mayor and city council, may convey a certain parcel of land located at 416 Appleton street in the city of Holyoke containing approximately .058 acres that was taken by the city for park purposes by eminent domain through an order of taking recorded in the Hampden county registry of deeds at book 6784, page 108.
SECTION 2. As a condition to the conveyance authorized in section 1, the city of Holyoke shall dedicate for open space and recreational purposes two certain parcels of land currently used as a pedestrian plaza near the city of Holyoke’s city hall corridor. The first such parcel to be dedicated is located at 30 John street, which was taken by the city pursuant to a judgment recorded on August 27, 2013 in book 19990, page 238. The second such parcel to be dedicated is located in the northernmost portion of the property located at 505 Dwight street, containing approximately 4,625 square feet, being a portion of the land acquired by the city in a deed recorded in the Hampden county registry of deeds at book 2952, page 390.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
