By Representative Sullivan of Abington and Senator Brady, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 5046) of Alyson M. Sullivan and Michael D. Brady (by vote of the town) that the town of Whitman be authorized to repeal the motor vehicle fine revolving fund in said town.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act authorizing the termination of the motor vehicle fine revolving fund in the town of Whitman.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 103 of the Acts of 1990, An Act Establishing a Revolving Fund to Apply Motor Vehicle Fines to Police Department Expenses and Salaries, is hereby repealed, and any revolving fund account established by the Town of Whitman pursuant to such Act is hereby terminated and closed. Upon such termination and closure, all funds remaining in any such revolving fund account and all monies received by said Town from fines for the violation of statutes and by-laws related to the operation and control of motor vehicles and parking fines shall be deposited into the General Fund of the Town of Whitman.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its passage.

SECTION 3. In the event of any conflict between this Act and any other general or special law, rule or regulation, this Act shall control.
