An Act relative to gender neutral redraft of the home rule charter of the town of Ashland replacing all gendered references to Board of Selectmen with Select Board.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Ashland Home Rule Charter is hereby amended by replacing any gender specific references to “Board of Selectmen” or “Selectmen” with gender neutral wording; specifically, deleting the word “Selectmen” or “Board of Selectmen” and inserting in its place the word “Select Board” wherever they appear.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage by the General Court.
