An Act amending the charter of the City of Everett.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of section 4-1 of article 4 of the charter of the city of Everett, which is on file in the office of the archivist of the commonwealth as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the words “(1)              There shall be a school committee which shall consist of nine (9) members.” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- There shall be a school committee, which shall consist of 10 members, including the mayor in an ex officio capacity, with a voice and vote.

SECTION 2. Said subsection (a) of said section 4-1 of said article 4 of said charter is hereby further amended by striking out paragraph (2).

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
