An Act ensuring accurate voter rolls.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 9 of Chapter 46 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following language at the end thereof:
“Upon pronouncement of death, a copy of the completed certificate of death shall be transmitted to the clerk’s office of the municipality where the deceased resided. Within 72 hours of receipt of the certificate of death, the clerk shall remove the deceased from the voter rolls.”
