An Act relative to the import, sale, trade, distribution, possession, and release of marbled crayfish and marmokrebs.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 37B of Chapter 21 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “fleas” in line 8, the following: “, marbled crayfish and marmokrebs,”.
SECTION 2: Section 37B of Chapter 21 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 official edition, is hereby amended by adding after subsection (j) the following subsection:
“(k) The department shall promulgate rules and regulations regarding the import, sale, trade, distribution, possession, and release of marbled crayfish and marmokrebs within the Commonwealth. The department shall promulgate rules and regulations prohibiting the release of marbled crayfish and marmokrebs into sewage systems and local waters, including but not limited to rivers, lakes, streams, reservoirs, and coastal waters.”
