An Act enabling the conservation commissions to consider climate change within their conservation plans.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 8C of chapter 40 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the fifth sentence the following 2 sentences:- The commission may include in its conservation plan an analysis of climate change effects and also may evaluate environmental justice and climate justice elements of climate change, including effects of extreme weather and flooding within areas subject to protection. A conservation commission may adopt guidelines and policies for environmental justice and climate justice.
