An Act relative to showing residential property.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to establish forthwith a moratorium on the showing of residential real property during the Governor’s COVID-19 emergency declaration, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Notwithstanding section 15B of chapter 186 of the General Laws or any other special or general law to the contrary, no lessor, including but not limited to the owner, landlord or any agent thereof, may enter or seek to enter the premises of occupied residential real property for the purpose of showing said premises to a prospective tenant, purchaser, mortgagee or any agent thereof for the duration of the governor’s March 10, 2020 declaration of a state of emergency.
