An Act allowing the town of Walpole to postpone its 2020 municipal election.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to allow for a postponement within but not beyond the month of June in the year 2020, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Town of Walpole is hereby authorized to move the date of its 2020 municipal election from June 6, 2020, to June 27, 2020.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
