An Act making discrimination on the basis of height and weight unlawful.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of chapter 151B of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the word “identity,”, in lines 17 and 61, in each instance, the following words:- “height or weight, unless for the purposes of compliance with any established state, federal, or industry safety standard,”.
SECTION 2. Section 4 of said chapter 151B is hereby amended by inserting after the word “identity,”, in lines 3, 72, 87, 93, 102, 111, 145, 169, 190, 240, 248, 258, 358, 369, 374, 381, 512, 523, 534, 700, and 710, in each instance, the following words:- “height or weight, unless for the purposes of compliance with any established state, federal, or industry safety standard,”.
SECTION 3. Section 92A of chapter 272 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “sex,”, in line 9, the following words:- “height or weight, unless for the purposes of compliance with any established state, federal, or industry safety standard,”.
SECTION 4. Section 98 of said chapter 272, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “sex,”, in line 3, the following words:- “height or weight, unless for the purposes of compliance with any established state, federal, or industry safety standard,”.
