Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, any Rest Home that is licensed by the Department of Public Health or the Department of Mental Health shall report any incident requiring emergency medical services or law enforcement intervention with a resident living in the facility, including, but not limited to, the administration of CPR, the use of an automated external defibrillator, use of NARCAN or other life-saving treatment , or the individual being removed from the facility by said emergency responders. The said facility shall be required to notify the next of kin or those duly noted as an emergency contact of the incident within 6 hours of the incident occurring. The facility shall also provide a detailed report of the incident to licensing authority within three days. Failure to comply with these reporting requirements will result in disciplinary action against the holder of the facility’s license which may result in the revocation of said license.
