An Act relative to the retirement benefits of Bernard J. Goclowski.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding Chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the provisions of Chapter 19 of the Acts of 2015 shall apply to Bernard J. Goclowski of Pittsfield, formerly an employee of the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

(b) The state board of retirement, established under section 18 of chapter 10 of the General Laws, shall credit Mr. Goclowski with an additional retirement benefit in accordance with this act and he shall receive a combination of years of creditable service and years of age, in full year increments, the sum of which shall not be greater than 5 years, for the purposes of determining his superannuation retirement allowance pursuant to paragraph (a) of subdivision (2) of section 5 of chapter 32 of the General Laws.

(c) Notwithstanding the credit, the total normal yearly amount of the retirement allowance of Mr. Goclowski, shall not exceed 80 per cent of the average annual rate of his regular compensation as determined in accordance with said section 5 of said chapter 32.  No other aspect of Mr. Goclowski’s retirement allowance may be modified.

(d)  The additional retirement benefit authorized by this act shall be prospective and shall be effective January 1, 2019.
