An Act providing survivor benefits to Ava Roy, the daughter of fallen firefighter Christopher Roy.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary and in order to promote the public good, the annual pension amount that would have been paid to a surviving spouse pursuant to section 100 of chapter 32 of the General Laws shall be paid to the legal guardian of Ava Roy for her benefit until she attains the age of majority at which point such amount shall be paid directly to her.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect as of December 9, 2018.
