An Act designating a certain building in the city of Fall River as the Captain Thomas Hudner Jr. Memorial Building.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Fall River Heritage State Park building on Davol Street in the in the City of Fall River shall be designated and known as the Captain Thomas Hudner Jr. Memorial Building. The late Thomas Hudner Jr. was a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, where he rose to the rank of Captain during his more than 20 years of service and was the first American serviceman in the Korean War to receive the Medal of Honor for his bravery and selflessness. As a Fall River native, Captain Thomas Hudner Jr. is a true hero for the city and our Commonwealth. The Department of Conservation and Recreation shall erect suitable markers bearing that designation in compliance with the standards of that agency. The department shall be responsible for the maintenance of the markers.
