An Act establishing Arbor and Bird days.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 15 of Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking the words “and Bird” in both lines 1 and 6, and is further amended by striking the words “particularly those attractive to birds,” in lines 2-3.

SECTION 2. Section 15 is further amended by adding the following paragraph:-

The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart May Fourth as Bird Day, recommending its observance by the public in the planting of trees, shrubs, and vines, particularly those attractive to birds, and through the promotion of bird education and bird watching activities to further enhance our understanding of the critical role that birds serve in our ecosystem.
