SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provision of any general or special law to the contrary, the City Council of Gloucester by vote on November 13, 1990 did establish certain City-owned lands duly recorded in Book 3427 Page 143 and duly recorded in Book 2962 page 269 in the Southern Essex Registry of Deeds and located on Gloucester Assessor’s Map as number 1 and 5 Shore Hills Road to be preserved for open space and recreational purposes.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provision of any general or special law to the contrary, the City Council of Gloucester by vote on August 13, 2019 did vote to request the Massachusetts State Legislature pass legislation to officially preserve for open space and recreational purposes the City-owned lands located on Gloucester Assessor’s Map as number 5 Shore Hill Road.
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding the provision of any general or special law to the contrary, the General Court does hereby accept that said lands shall be held permanently for the purposes of park and conservation uses under Article 97 of the Massachusetts Constitution.
The City may execute and deliver a certificate in a form suitable for recording referencing the passage of this Chapter along with a copy of said Chapter and the Southern Essex Registry of Deeds shall accept the same for recording and make marginal reference thereto upon the record of all applicable deeds for said lands.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage
