Resolutions resolving the investigation of the conduct of the Honorable Dean A. Tran, Senator from the Worcester and Middlesex District.

 

WHEREAS, THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON ETHICS HAS DETERMINED THAT SENATOR TRAN VIOLATED SENATE RULE 10A; AND

WHEREAS, SENATE RULE 12A PERMITS THE IMPOSITION OF DISCIPLINE FOR A VIOLATION OF SENATE RULE 10A, ANY OTHER SENATE RULE OR OTHER MISCONDUCT; THEREFORE BE IT

RESOLVED, THAT THE SENATOR FROM THE WORCESTER AND MIDDLESEX DISTRICT, MR. DEAN A. TRAN, SHALL BE REMOVED AS ASSISTANT MINORITY WHIP FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2019-2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION; AND BE IT FURTHER

RESOLVED, THAT SENATOR TRAN’S PERSONAL OFFICE SHALL BE RELOCATED TO SOME AVAILABLE SPACE IN THE STATE HOUSE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2019-2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION; AND BE IT FURTHER

RESOLVED, THAT SENATOR TRAN SHALL BE SEGREGATED FROM HIS STAFF, WHO WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE CONSTITUENTS IN SENATOR TRAN’S CURRENT PHYSICAL OFFICE, AND THAT HIS CONTACT WITH THEM SHALL BE ONLY IN WRITING THROUGH OFFICIAL SENATE EMAIL AND STRICTLY LIMITED TO OFFICIAL SENATE BUSINESS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2019-2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION; AND BE IT FURTHER

RESOLVED, THAT THIS REPORT, THE ALLEGATIONS CONCERNING SENATOR TRAN’S OCTOBER 2019 SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET AMENDMENT AND ANY SUPPORTING MATERIALS THAT THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON ETHICS, IN CONSULTATION WITH SENATE COUNSEL, DEEMS APPROPRIATE SHALL BE REFERRED TO THE STATE ETHICS COMMISSION AND THE OFFICE OF CAMPAIGN AND POLITICAL FINANCE.
