An Act relative to employment protections for medical marijuana patients.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Subsection (b) of Section 2 of Chapter 94I of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the word “property.” in line 28, the following:-
(5) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, nothing in this chapter shall be construed to allow a person to discharge or cause to be discharged or to otherwise discipline or in any manner discriminate against any employee or candidate for employment for the reason that said employee or candidate for employment is a user of medical marijuana outside of the workplace, pursuant to protections against discrimination on the basis of disability in Chapter 151B of the General Laws.
