An Act providing emergency assistance for municipal public safety overtime.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 41 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 133 the following section:-

Section 134. The executive office of public safety and security shall establish a grant program, subject to appropriation, to provide funding for cities and towns for the overtime costs of municipal police officers, municipal law enforcement personnel with arrest powers, municipal personnel with authority to enforce public health regulations, members of the fire department, and emergency medical technicians during the COVID-19 state of emergency. The executive office of public safety shall develop guidelines governing the implementation of this grant program.
