An Act establishing an online system to process background checks by the Department of Early Education and Care.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 8 of Chapter 15D of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:-

(l) The board shall establish an online system to process request and consent forms for background checks required pursuant to this chapter, including criminal offender record information checks, fingerprint-based checks, and sexual offender registry information checks, and through which department licensed, funded or approved schools, programs, or providers may request background checks for employees, volunteers, interns, or any other individuals required to undergo a background check pursuant to this chapter. The board shall adopt regulations relative to such online background check system.
