An Act relative to the protection of the environment and waste water treatment systems.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 94 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 330. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no manufacturer or retailer shall label a personal hygiene product, including so-called "flushable wipes", as “flushable” unless that product is designed to be biodegradable in such a way that will prevent the blockage of home or municipal septic systems.
