An Act relative to applied behavior analysis services.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 118E is hereby amended by adding after section 10J the following section:-

Section 10K. The division shall provide coverage for applied behavior analysis treatment for individuals 21 years of age and older who are receiving medical coverage under this chapter and who are diagnosed with an intellectual disability as defined in Section 1 of Chapter 123B or a developmental disability as defined in Section 1 of Chapter 123B. This treatment shall be covered when prescribed as medically necessary by a licensed physician and with clinical direction by a licensed applied behavior analyst.
