An Act relative to the governance of the Health Policy Commission.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 2(b) of chapter 6D of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out in line 9, the number “11” and inserting in place thereof the number “13”.

SECTION 2. Section 2(b) of chapter 6D of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out in line 11, the number “3” and inserting in place thereof the number “4” and by striking out in line 13 the number “3” and inserting in place thereof the number “4” and by inserting after the sentence in lines 32, 33, and 34 the following new sentence:–

The fourth person appointed by the governor, shall be a nurse registered to practice in Massachusetts and shall be initially appointed for a term of 5 years.

SECTION 3. Section 2(b) of chapter 6D of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “attorney general” in line 35 the following:–

1 shall have an advanced degree in public health who has expertise in implementing strategies to eliminate health care disparities and shall be initially appointed for a term of 1 year.
