An Act establishing the Office of Massachusetts Main Streets.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 23A of the 2014 Official Edition of the General Laws his hereby amended after section 13 by inserting the following new section:-

131/2 MOBD—Office of Massachusetts Main Streets

Within MOBD there shall be established an Office of Massachusetts Main Streets (OMMS). OMMS shall serve as the principal agency for promoting and protecting the downtown and commercial districts of the commonwealth’s cities and towns. OMMS shall provide informational, marketing, and technical assistance to federal, state and local Main Street groups and coordinate federal, state and local Main Street efforts to further accomplish the goal of promoting and protecting downtown and commercial districts of the commonwealth.
