An Act relative to the statute of limitations in civil child sexual abuse cases.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  The first sentence of section 8 of chapter 145 of the acts of 2014 is hereby amended by inserting after the word “act” the following words:- ; provided, however, that if the person who sexually abused the minor is deceased, clause (i) shall apply regardless of when any such action or claim shall have accrued or been filed and regardless of whether it may have lapsed or otherwise be barred by time under the law of the commonwealth.
