SECTION 1. Persons with felony convictions in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Courts, who, after no criminal activity for a period of ten (10) years of ending a criminal sentencing shall, upon application to the Superior Court in the jurisdiction in their residence, with certified evidence of no criminal activity via the Federal Bureau of Investigations Criminal Records Identity History Summary AND the Commonwealth’s Criminal Offenders Record Information (CORI) or like system, shall have their criminal record expunged from all such recording systems and agencies, and full rights of citizenship shall be restored to the past felon, via the Court, except in cases where firearms were used in the commission of the original criminal offense.
