SECTION 1. Section 127I of chapter 111 of the general laws, as so appearing in the 2016 official edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following paragraph:-
Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, a municipality may, by ordinance or by-law, require an entity to provide a cash surety in an amount not to exceed $10,000 on vacant property that the entity has the lawful ability to enter upon and control when that entity is foreclosing or has foreclosed upon the property.
