An Act relative to designating certain portions of interstate highway route 495 as the Susannah North Martin Highway.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the portion of interstate highway route 495, which runs through Susannah North Martin's original farmstead at the end of North Martin Road in Amesbury, shall be known and designated as the Susannah North Martin Highway to commemorate her life and unjust persecution during the Salem Witch Trials. Suitable markers bearing said designations shall be erected thereon by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in compliance with the standards of said department and as authorized by the federal bureau of public roads.
