An Act improving access to the natural and recreational resources of Massachusetts.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1: Notwithstanding 302 CMR 12.22 or any other general or special law or by-law to the contrary, upon presentation at the entrance of Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation facilities of EITHER:

(1)A current, valid EBT card issued by the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance OR;

(2)A current, valid MassHealth ID card issued by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services

AND a current, valid Massachusetts ID which matches the name on the EBT or MassHealth card, the parking fee shall be waved at said facility.

SECTION 2: This act shall apply to all Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation facilities that charge a parking fee.

SECTION 3: This act applies only to parking fees, and does not apply to camping fees, dumping fees, structure or field rental fees, event permit fees or any other fees charged by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

SECTION 4:  This act applies only to vehicles registered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

SECTION 5:  This act shall take effect upon passage.
