An Act relative to the Insurance Commission issuing a micromobility report.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1: No later than July 31, 2021, the Insurance Commissioner of the Commonwealth or his/her designee shall prepare a report to be submitted to the clerks of the House and Senate, the House and Senate Chairs of the Joint Committee on Transportation, and the House and Senate Chairs of the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight detailing current offerings for insuring micromobility products and their operations in the Commonwealth including recommendations for per ride personal injury and property damage insurance for single-rider electric scooters with a maximum speed of 15 miles per hour and other micromobility products offered for consumer rental. As used in this section, “micromobility” refers to electric bicycles, motorized scooters, or electric foot scooters. The Commissioner of Insurance shall make its report available on a public website.
