_______________
An Act relative to drug prices paid by carriers.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to regulate drug pricing, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law or regulation to the contrary, the division of insurance and the health policy commission shall promulgate regulations with the goal of ensuring that carriers as each is defined in section 1 of chapter 6D of the General Laws shall not pay more for drugs than the Medicaid program.
