An Act relative to college tuition and admissions.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 69 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 37. In making decisions relating to admissions, scholarships and grants, any college, university, community college or junior college within the system of public institutions of higher education as set forth in section 5 of chapter 15A, shall identify and give priority to students or prospective students residing in the commonwealth: (1) whose biological parents are deceased or had their parental rights terminated due to abuse or neglect; and (2) who have been legally adopted by a blood relative within the third level of consanguinity or were assigned a permanent legal guardian by a court.
